Whoa. This is just freaking weird. o_O

Wednesday, July 2, 2003 \\ 03:30 p.m.

Hm.

Muslim "Youth" Camp - open to 18 and up, but it still is supposed to be for Youth, and not religious. On federal land, mind.

Twas approved. Because... they SAID it's not religious so it's okay.

Riiiiiight. Let's see a Jewish or Christian or Wiccan or Native American (with their many, many religions) or anyone else try to use Federal land for something like this. The "separation of religion and state" smack-down would come so fast the people who tried it wouldn't know what hit them.

You know, there are times when I fear our desire to be politically correct overrides our good sense.... -_-;

Tuesday, July 1, 2003 \\ 05:13 a.m.

Just finished reading Order of the Phoenix.

..........

That.... kinda says it all, I think. If you want more, it's in the livejournal.

Sunday, June 29, 2003 \\ 10:11 p.m.

WHEEE!!

Hooded one is Hermione, hiding one is Ginny.

They have this sort of... large nest/ball thing that they adore. And you can't see it very well, but they're piled on top of each other in there.

Better for piling, not so good for focus. Ah, well. ^_^ There shall be more to come. *dances*

*edit* And I didn't forget that you're here, buu. Silly you. ^_^ I already mentioned you on the forums... ~_^

Sunday, June 29, 2003 \\ 04:34 p.m.

Waaaaaaaai!! ^____^

I have BABIES!!! Baby rats, that is. They're the sweetest thing in the WORLD. ^________^ I'll be posting pictures as soon as my camera batteries are charged....

Saturday, June 28, 2003 \\ 04:53 p.m.

Eeeee, I'm so excited! I'm going to be getting baby rats! ^___^

Er, as pets, in case that weren't completely clear. *coughs lightly*

I used to keep mice, but had to give it up when I went to college; but now, I have time and some money... so: rats.

Am thrilled.

Am also naming them Lina and Naga.

Letter bombs must be sent to the main office. >:)

Friday, June 27, 2003 \\ 11:46 a.m.

Eee! They moved us to FIVEpm instead!!

Yes, I think we can handle this.

Wednesday, June 25, 2003 \\ 11:12 p.m.

Wheee. Am alive yet again. ^_^ And I have INCREDIBLE news!

Okay, most of you know that my dad has a monday-friday radio program; it's a really neat opportunity - part of his (two doctorate) genius is that he can answer just about ANY question, in ANY situation. Politics, religion, psychology, doens't matter.

Well, we've been having some trouble with the radio station. Basically, they're overcharging us for a bad time - we used to be at 3pm, and now we're at 11am. None of our old audience can listen; and to boot, they're surrounding us with bad infomercials, which is death for any show.

Finally, we gave them an ultimatum. Cut the price in half (yes, it was THAT expensive) and move us back to 3pm - or we're gone in 30 days.

It wasn't really our choice. We could no longer afford what they were charging us. (We barely make PAYroll. *chuckles weakly*)

They didn't believe us. It became a staring contest.

The month crept by, and nothing changed; finally, monday, dad announced that friday was it. We couldn't afford the cost, and the time was simply wrong. Friday was it - BML was over.

Our church and apologetics class were utterly distressed; dad put it best: "There's nothing more we can do. God can still pull something out of his hat, yes - but unless He does, we're done."

...and GUESS what happened? ^____^

Tuesday morning; KPLS calls us.

Price: cut 50%.

Time: can't move you to 3pm, sorry. Instead.... they moved us to SIX PM!!!

SIX!!!!! Do you realize this? DRIVE time! Prime time! God gave us the absolutely MOST perfect time we could have, and we weren't even praying for it!

Let there never be any doubt that we have a very, very cool God. ~_^ (Hey, even if you don't believe in Him, I do - and it's a neat coincidence, ne? ~_^)

Wednesday, June 25, 2003 \\ 02:13 p.m.

Boy, am I sleepy. @_@ That isn't good. Meh; well, my mom needed to go to the emergency room last night - her throat infection came back, and she was no longer able to swallow. Soooooo we were out until like..3:30 in the morning. @_@

...maybe I should get some coffee...

Monday, June 23, 2003 \\ 01:42 p.m.

Kiyaaaah! Okay, guys, remember this link to the Tokyopop surveys? Well, they DO listen to the fans; they're possibly getting Fruits Basket and Saiyuki. It's not confirmed yet, but this source - http://www.animeondvd.com - is rarely wrong.

I'm telling you guys - go here and fill out the survey for Tokyo Babylon. Tokyopop is doing SUCH a good job with the other recent CLAMP manga - please, if you love me, ask for TB. (Or even if you don't. Nyah. ~_^) You won't regret it!

Sunday, June 22, 2003 \\ 11:29 p.m.

Still sick. Brother's gone mad. Ah, well; what's one to do.

Saturday, June 21, 2003 \\ 04:21 p.m.

Sigh. No more alone. AND sick again. I tell you, there's a germ monster in this house or something...

On the other hand, Julie called me about the latest Harry Potter book ... *crosses fingers* Mine should be coming soon. I hope it does. Gaaaah she sounded SO excited! ^_^

Friday, June 20, 2003 \\ 01:57 p.m.

*waves* I'm alive, my friends - just extremely, extremely busy. With AX coming up and a week's worth of work to catch up on, I'm feeling a mite rushed for time.

Of course, I'm still writing AND doing HTML, so that means I'm not sleeping as much as I should. Bad me. :D

In other news, you can expect Utena, Consummatum, and Gundam Wing updates fairly soon; not to mention Clamp Campus Detectives *thinks she may be the only person in the world who reads that - besides her, but that doesn't count because I got her addicted*) - which is always fun. Especially since I can't make it ...er... light and fluffy. Not really. Not for very long, anyway. We must have MISERY! MUAHAHAHA!

*coughs* I'm better now.

Anyway, am happy to say that health has finally deigned to look my way. I dunno; lately it seems I get sick really, really easily. I do believe I'm going to look into some supplements, or something....

Or *shudder* reishi.

Bwah. Later.

Tuesday, June 17, 2003 \\ 03:30 p.m.

Woooow... you know, this whole formatting-computer thing did wonders. Everything runs more smoothly; I get no errors, no problems running lots of programs - just like when I first got the computer in the beginning. ~_^ Loving it, loving it, loving it....

Congrats on finishing that exam, Leareth! Knew you could make it through that thing. ^_^ Also glad your dad is back from overseas - it can be hard when they're away. (And yes, they DID screw up "mysterious" - augh.) ^^;; And as for a new layout... didja have anything in mind? Hmmmm?

Eeee... Isa... mah. You're having one hell of a time with technology lately. Er... I can host you if they don't?

Meep - just finished installing another thingy. Must restart. More socialness later. ^_^

Tuesday, June 17, 2003 \\ 12:41 p.m.

Wooo... last night was AWESOME. ^_^ There was a Dr. there from Pakistan. He'd converted from Islam to Christianity and had had to flee because his own family tried to kill him; he's in the US now on political sanction. Yow.

(P. S. Yep, Merka, it's true - the client is spoiling me VERY badly. @_@)

Monday, June 16, 2003 \\ 01:59 p.m.

You know, while some of the entries are the same, I find I tend to update Livejournal more than I do this. o_O

I blame the download client. :D :D :D

Monday, June 16, 2003 \\ 11:19 a.m.

Okay... There's this HUGE cross. And I mean huge - it's been there for nearly a hundred years, and was only put up to replace other crosses that have been there since the 1700's. It's a historical landmark. HOWEVER....

Here people are suing to remove it claiming it interfere's ith their 1st amendment rights because it's on federal land (click here).

Which is all fine and good, except that the ACLU and other such groups are being suspiciously quiet about a "youth camp" (er... for ages 18 and up o_O) for Muslims on FEDERAL LAND in Iowa (click here).

Am I nuts? Is it me? Or are these people being extremely inconsistent? If you're going to get rid of one, you kinda need to make it across the board, ne?

Apparently not. o_O

Sunday, June 15, 2003 \\ 09:41 p.m.

Site redone, just for fun. Wai Tsuzuki. ^_^ Enjoy.

Hope everyone else had a good Father's Day (no offense meant to those who have...er, no father ^^;). We definitely did; took dad out to eat, treated him wonderfully. He loved it. ^_^

And WOO the sermon was good... all the principles of being a father from the book of Proverbs. We're going to be contiuing this one because there was too much for just one sermon. :D

Saturday, June 14, 2003 \\ 07:38 p.m.

Father's Day tomorrow - those of you who have fathers, don't forget to do SOMETHING for him, ne? ^^;

Friday, June 13, 2003 \\ 03:25 p.m.

*blinkblink* This kinda surprises me - in a good way. But... yeah. Heh, cool...

Which CLAMP series' random item are you?

Friday, June 13, 2003 \\ 02:08 p.m.

Eeeeeee....

Have just completely formatted my computer. Talk about nerve-wracking...

Currently working on installing things again. This is kinda fun, but woo... VERY scary. ^_^;;

Thursday, June 12, 2003 \\ 04:11 a.m.

I shouldn't be up. I SO shouldn't be up; but I couldn't help it... Wrote two teency short-fics. One's DBZ, the other's Slayers. You can read them here (dbz) and here (slayers). The DBZ one is sad; the Slayers one is really NOT sad. Balanced? Bipolar? You tell me. ~_^ Enjoy!

Wednesday, June 11, 2003 \\ 06:59 p.m.

Woooo, sleepy. ^_^ I'm going to be away-from-net a lot in the next couple of days - doing some maintenance on my computer, so you may not hear much from me. Take it not personally. :D

P. S. Nightwalker is fun!

Tuesday, June 10, 2003 \\ 06:10 p.m.

Oooh, I'm writing at 6:10 on 6/10... muaha. *coughs*

Anyway.

This will make her very happy: I am organizing my book shelves. Yupyup. ^_^ *still pleased at the time/date thing*

Tuesday, June 10, 2003 \\ 04:40 a.m.

surfeit SUR-fit, noun:
      1. An excessive amount or supply.
      2. Overindulgence, as in food or drink.
      3. Disgust caused by overindulgence or excess.

Yes. I am bored enough to be looking at word of the day. Of course, it IS good for your education... did you know that most people's vocabulary stops expanding after 24? @_@ Blah. Not ME, man.

*edit* EEE JULIE! *glomps* See response on livejournal. ^_^ Oooh, it's so GOOD to hear from you!!

Tuesday, June 10, 2003 \\ 12:32 a.m.

...my mother woke me uuuuup. @_@ *put more details into livejournal because whining twice is no fun*

Sigh. When she was good, she was very, very good... and when she was bad....

*finds herself praying that she doesn't turn into her mother* *...um, ever*

Monday, June 9, 2003 \\ 07:09 p.m.

Oh, before I forget - SIGN THE PETITION FOR TOKYO BABYLON, PLEASE. ^____^

Don't forget to spread this link - if we can get this really good company to do TB, do you KNOW how wonderful that would be?

Monday, June 9, 2003 \\ 03:48 p.m.

Bleh... Did not. Sleep. A wink last night. >_< My sinuses hate me...

Anyway, at least got some work done on Subaru.nu; listing aaaaaaaaall the people who show up in the manga (I mean ALL of them), so it's taking some time. Also, trying to get wee thumbnails for most.

Nothing else to report. Erm... being sick isn't fun? ^^;

Sunday, June 8, 2003 \\ 11:44 p.m.

Ooooooooh, I FORGOT TO MENTION - this is too funny. Marsh was kind enough a while ago to make me a GORGEOUS t-shirt - one with that infamous "Subaru Sakurazukamori" pic on the front of it. Well, it went missing about a week ago, and I couldn't figure out where it was -

It showed up today. On my dad. While he was doing BAPTISMS in our church.

Do I even NEED to go into detail? ^____^

Sunday, June 8, 2003 \\ 10:06 p.m.

Bleh. Still sick; this is a doozy of a coldfluthing.

Wanna know how sick I am?

...I'm not writing. @_@ AAAAAAH!

Saturday, June 7, 2003 \\ 11:46 p.m.

See? Back-from-vacation blog. ^^; To list the updates:

1. Got a livejournal.

2. More Utena fic.

3. More DBZ fic (Cumber).

4. More Clamp Campus Detectives fic.

*stares* Wooo... I DID do a lot, didn't I? ^_^ *makes happy sign*

...shame I have to be sick now. >_<

About ze blog (taken verbatim from Takira, because she rocks).

Mmkay, so the greater portion of the YnM cast never made it to the anime; you can only fit so much into 13 episodes. Among these are Kotarou and Kojirou, the Tengu twins--which makes them sound a little like old-school superheroes, but they're worlds prettier than that. It does, however, beg the question of just what they do besides provide Matsushita-sensei with ample opportunity for eye-candy.

*clears throat* I've been asked to do a synopsis, you see, so this is just the information I can readily recall. I'm sure they've done more than this, but we'll just call this the gross dissection...or something like that.

Their species (race, whatever--looks like a species to me) is the Tengu, who seem to be something between a crow and a long-nosed goblin, and much easier on the eyes in humanoid form; any excuse for winged bishounen. As above stated, they're twins, and were orphaned quite young. I know it's mentioned somewhere who took them in, but I'm not finding it in the translations... anyhow, at present, they're the keepers of the Suzaku Gate into Gensoukai, and answer to Wakaba-chan, of all people. Terazuma seems a little jealous of them.

They enter the timeline as Hisoka's about to get his wee arse burned to ash by Kurikara at their first meeting, with the mission of bringing Hisoka back safely. Kotarou takes Hisoka and flies off with Futsunomitama in pursuit, and Kojirou stays to fight Kurikara. Kurikara's well familiar with their race (makes a reference to one of their elders, actually), but they're both too young to remember him except from stories. Long story short, Kotarou ends up escaping with Hisoka, though Futsunomitama gets free in the process. Kurikara decides he's not in the mood for pulverizing crow and settles for cutting off one of Kojirou's wings.

...he then delivers Kojirou home alive, for reference, but nobody really thinks to notice this for a while.

Kojirou's in a bad way (no good to be a wing-bishie with only one wing), and Hisoka does the Guilt thing in a similar way; eventually, he does something--not sure what, but it must be pretty darned special--to heal/rebuild Kojirou's wing, nearly at the expense of his own body, actively decomposing from the heavy dose of divine ki he got from Kurikara.

Heavy fanservice Brotherly Love warm-cuddlies after the brothers are reunited, quotes from which you can find on Trin's present blog layout. Beyond that, I don't think they've done overmuch. Characterization-wise, all I know is that Kotarou is referred to as the "elder brother', but seems more light-hearted (at least, when he's not worried about his brother dying); Kojirou is a more deliberate, at-my-own-pace type of guy. His first thoughts upon seeing Byakko were that he wanted to fight that tiger...just for fun, I guess. I dunno. I'll have to go through the translations with my manga sometime and try to piece things together.

Anyhow, it's difficult to say what part these two are to play in upcoming drama, as their race has sworn to remain neutral in the whole SohRyu/Kurikara fight. Honestly, they seem fairly loyal to Kurikara (they call him Kinsei-dono, among other things), but I'd imagine that it's not very fashionable to be loyal to someone who's been locked away for several thousand years as a traitor.

*restrains self from any further Kurikara-ranting* *noooo ranting, no no no...*
