Inuki's gone to live with someone else. ;_; She has a GOOD home - they're people who are absolutely sweet and we see often, and they even promise to let me see her every thursday. but....but....

I do hope she doesn't turn out to be one of those REALLY hyper dogs once she's been fixed up....

Oh, and btw:

My folks came home tonight with a stray dog. They were driving back from some meeting, and they saw this poor little black doggie running loose in the road. BUSY road. And it was getting to be night.

Concerned, they pulled over and caught up with her. The doggie was sniffing at this VERY upset girl on a bike, who told us that she'd seen a van drive by and the occupants THREW the dog into the street, driving off without looking back.

Well... you know Proverbs 12:10 says the righteous are kind to animals - so of course, my parents brougt the puppy home.

She is SO freaking sweet. She crawled right into my lap and went to sleep already. If you're curious, here's a picture of Scotty (the white one) and... well. *I* want to call her Inuki, but who knows if that'll work. ~_^

Wow. I wonder if we're going to keep her. I rather hope we do - she and Scotty are getting along rather well, all things considered.

Now, mind, you I showed her that this can't work out; I actually brought out my bills and SHOWED her, with a calculator, that when all my bills come at once (which thank God they don't all the time, but more often than I like), once they're all paid, I have a grand total of $50 dollars left over. Now, this is including phone bill, car insurance, computer, gas. This is not including gifts to the church, food, etc.

She didn't believe me. Instead, I was lectured for a long time on how I spend too much (even when I showed her my bank statement - which demonstrates that I do NOT spend that much) and how I can most certainly live on $5,000 a year, regardless of the fact that my bills cost... er... more than that.

Sigh. Whatever decade she thinks she's living in, it must have been nice.

Oh, and RE the ants: it turns out they're a Southern California variety, and while I don't know the scientific name, they're commonly called "grease ants." Apparently, they don't LIKE sugar; they only like things with grease.

And just to avoid unnecessary gross-out, there isn't grease like that in my computer; the ants were just there because they were all over that side of the house. @_@ I moved my computer elsewhere, and they went away. *whew* Although I still think the mice win.
