05/08/04, 1:49 pm - You know, I really SHOULD let you all know that I'm having a fabulous time. ~_^ The folks on this tour with me are pretty fun, and I'm old enough that the grad students on board (not to mention the teacher) and I really get along well. It's not like my first tour, when I was barely 18, fresh out of homeschool, and felt awkward because I was not (and continue to be) not exactly "popular;" people encourage you to be strong and give your opinions, but they don't always approve of you when you DO, ne? What fun. ~_^

At any rate, this has been absolutely marvelous so far. I've gotten more sleep in the last several days than I have in the last several weeks (no... that's not an exaggeration @_@), have one and a half terrific solos (sorry you didn't get to HEAR the real one, Manzai), and feel utterly at ease. Mind you, I don't think it's sunk in yet that I'm GRADUATED. I still feel too much like this school and its occupants are my home and my family.

OOOH, and the COOLEST THING HAPPENED! The first night out, we stayed in Deleware with a bunch of Mennonites because we'd sung in their church. Well, okay; here's a group of people who are very faith-driven and primitive -right?

Wrong. My Mennonnite hostess had been a missionary to Japan for five years and spoke the language fluently. You can bet we hit it off. ^_______^

I've had a couple more realizations as I travel on the bus here; one - I'm no more popular than I was my freshman year, but on the other hand, I don't care. It's a funny thing - somewhere along the line I realized I didn't really WANT the attentions of most people around here becuase in order to get them, I'd have to be stupid. I don't LIKE being stupid.

*shakes head* Bizarre, ne? ~_^

Anyway, I'm going to try to write some more now. I've reformatted Consummatum for the sake of editing, and am halfway through chapter four; also, I"m working on some of my DBZ fiction and my big old Mary Sue Torture Piece.

At any rate, I've been thinkin about things, and find it interesting that at present, I'm still not all upset about leaving PBU and the choir. I think I know why.

I'm planning to stay in the choir world; continuing on to get my master's degree, possibly in something like choral conducting, and then on to teach on a collegiate level (again, as a possibility) -

and, in an unrelated facet, now we're listening to the Dukes of Hazard as compared to Green Acres. I love this place. ^_^

- which would mean that I'm far from done with this kind of thing. That makes sense, doesn't it?

*snickers* Okay. The "Good Ol' Boys" is eating into my brain. More later. ^_^

(From 04/06/02 2:25 pm, on the bus) Okay - don't know when I'll get to post this, butI have to write it out. Some of you guys know about Paul. Well... I was going through the whole saga of what went on there again with someone who didn't know, and... I dunno if the objectivity time has given me came through or what happened exactly - but suddenly I realized something that I hadn't realized before - and perhaps, should have.

Paul is acting like someone who has been raped.

I know I was too close to the siutation to see this before; I went to Liz, a mutual friend of ours who also happens to have her masters' degree in counseling, and she told me that she came to that conclusion a long time ago - just didn't tell me because she knew I wasn't ready to listen. And it sounds so horrible - but the more I think about it... about how PURE he was, about how clueless, about how virginal even in the way he HUGGED people....

*weak smile* Well, Takira... we WERE talking about things in my life Subie-related. I think we can add another one.

....so much for any sleep on the bus for ME.

Hee hee - dunno when I can blog next. Just finished purchasing my plane tickets; will be leaving on the 15th and returning on the 27th (and you and I can leave after that, Julie). Now, however, I must needs go on a week long Chorale tour - and this is going to be SUCH fun. We're going as far down as South Carolina - which is a fair distance from Philadelphia, PA.
